Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado promotes cultural awareness.

Fort Lewis College of Durango, Colorado strives to promote cultural awareness to the entire student body. The school offers a wide variety of activities and sponsored events that help the student body live a more diversified life with a better understanding of cultural differences.
All Nations Stick Ball Club:
This co-ed sports club teaches and promotes the diverse creek style of stick ball. Students are given an opportunity to interact with other cultures and enjoy some exercise at the same time.
All Peoples’ Lodge:
Both non-native Americans and native American students from Fort Lewis College are able to attend traditional tribal sweat lodges. The sweat lodges are held by native Americans from across the country and occasionally Canada. Sweat lodges offer students a means of learning about traditional native customs and cultures.
Anthropology Club:
The anthropology club offers students an in depth look at ancient cultures and customs. Students who join this club will be given the opportunity to attend field trips and lectures given by anthropologists.
Club Baile Folklorico:
Students are able to join this club to learn the art of Mexican dance and folklore story telling. All who are involved in this club are given the opportunity to learn the various dances and learn about the cultural concerns of the Hispanic community. More info here: Week 5
