College drama and theater can have a huge role in educating students and the community about other cultures, especially the different cultures within the United States. Every year, thousands of students travel out of state to get a well-rounded college education, bringing with them immensely rich cultural backgrounds. In theater, students come together to put on performances expressing these cultures and diversities.

Colleges also aim to provoke the student’s and the community’s interest in theater as a truthful demonstrator of the human condition. This gives room for directors and actors to put together performances that reflect their personal human conditions. Also, it is important to acknowledge that theaters promote the exchange of ideas, so that even cast members and actors can learn from one another. There is no doubt that College Theater helps develop cultural understanding among both the audience and crew. But, more importantly, it tunes the perception of the recurring conflicts we humans face in the dramatic works that it produces.
