Tucked into the foot of the Rocky Mountains in the southwest corner of Colorado, is the quaint and sentient town of Durango. The campus of Fort Lewis college, a four year liberal arts school, stands perched on a plateau along the eastern edge of this small western town. The Department of Theatre at Fort Lewis college conducts outstanding performances from a standpoint of multicultural diversity. Since the college itself lies directly in the heart of Native American country, awareness and appreciation of the diversity and importance of native culture is respected and valued. Much of this appreciation of culture is reflected in the Fort Lewis college theatrical performances.
